in recent years, the abortion of sows has become an important disease that restricts the healthy and steady development of pig industry. according to the author of the city's livestock herds of more than 30 pig farms survey: nearly three years, the average abortion rate of sows in more than 23.6%. therefore, to improve the understanding of the pig farmers sow abortion disease system, increase investment in prevention and treatment of diseases caused by sow abortion, strengthen the sow management group, is to increase production, increase the benefits of pig production, an important link to promote the rapid development of the pig industry healthy.
1 cause the disease of sow abortion
abortion is the interruption of pregnancy. the risk of miscarriage is very high. it not only causes the fetus to die or develop badly, but also damages the mother's health and even leads to infertility. it can endanger life in severe cases. the cause of sow abortion is very complex, roughly the following:
abortion, fetal membranes and 1.1 dams caused by the disease of the reproductive organs directly by microorganisms or parasites, the female reproductive organ disease and dysfunction. because of the abortion of the previous one, the treatment of the uterus is not complete. there are also inflammation in the uterus which can cause miscarriage.
1.2 the nutritional value of feeding induced abortion is incomplete (especially the lack of protein, vitamin e, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium), as well as the loss of nutrients caused by mildew and toxic feed, which leads to abortion.
1.3 habitual abortion caused by inbreeding, endocrine disorder and stress induced abortion.
2 kinds of cause and clinical features of female abortion disease
2.1 strong infectious diseases
2.1.1 swine fever (chronic type). after pregnant sows infected, pass the virus through the placenta to the fetus, resulting in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the production of weak piglets or diarrhea after weaning.
2.1.2 foot and mouth disease. pregnant sows infected with foot-and-mouth disease virus can occur abortion, and body temperature rise, anorexia, sow mouth, hoof, shell and breast appear different sizes of blisters and ulcers, hoof shell deformation or fall off.
2.1.3 streptococcus suis (purulent lymphadenitis type). when the uterus is phlogistic, there is miscarriage or stillbirth. swelling of the submandibular, hypopharyngeal, and cervical lymph nodes is also present.
2.1.4 suis suis. sow's symptoms are divided into two kinds of chronic and acute. the symptoms of acute infection are persistent high fever (40 ~ 41 deg c), anorexia, late pregnancy and postpartum sows prone to mastitis, and some sows suffer from miscarriage and stillbirth. chronically infected sows show weakness, pale mucosa, yellow staining, absence of estrus, and repeated infertility.
2.2 porcine reproductive disorders
pseudorabies in 2.2.1 swine. the four characteristics are: 1. the pregnant sows have aborted, stillborn fetuses and mummified fetuses, which mainly produce stillbirth. the large number of deaths caused by neonatal piglets, as newborn piglets the first day, second days from onset, 3 to 5 days is the peak of death, sometimes the whole nest died. the piglets had neurological symptoms, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, crying. pig infertility: spring pig outbreak of pseudorabies, followed by the autumn sow can not match the species, the rate of return of 90%. after boar infection, the performance of testicular swelling, atrophy, loss of ability to use.
parvovirus disease of 2.2.2 swine. symptoms: 1 only affects the first child, has no effect on sows and boars. sow in different stages of infection, the clinical manifestations have some differences. in the early stages of pregnancy, fetal infection, fetal maternal absorption, may again sow estrus; in pregnancy 30 ~ 50 days of infection, mainly mummified; 50 ~ 60 days of infection mainly stillbirth; 70 days of infection may cause abortion; pregnancy 70 days after infection, sows can normal production, but with the suckling piglets poison.
2.2.3 japanese b encephalitis. after the gestation sows the infection, the body temperature rises (40 ~ 41 deg c), has the miscarriage or the premature birth, the miscarriage embryo has the stillborn foetus, the mummy embryo or the weak embryo, but mostly is the stillbirth. after the miscarriage of the sow symptoms quickly alleviated, body temperature and appetite gradually returned to normal.  after the boar infects, the testicle swelling occurs, the swelling often assumes one side, but also has both sides to swell. most infected boars lost 2~7 days of swelling and gradually recovered. other pigs of the same group showed different degrees of encephalitis.
2.2.4 porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome. symptoms were as follows: sow performance, duration of affection, or infertility. pregnant sows have aborted, stillborn fetuses, mummified fetuses and weak pups, and some have no milk after birth. the incidence rate of boars is relatively low. the sow fever, depression, loss of appetite or waste away, cough, gasp and varying degrees of difficulty in breathing. the diseased pigs show transient bluish purple or bluish purple patches on the ear, abdomen and vulva. rising body temperature and difficulty breathing.
2.2.5 swine chlamydia. the symptoms were as follows: 1. the disease occurred mostly in primiparous sows. pregnant sows infected with chlamydia did not show any other abnormalities, only late pregnancy, sudden miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth or weak offspring. the boar of the disease showed urethritis, orchitis, epididymitis, mating with blood secretions discharged. most of the piglets infected with pneumonia, enteritis, conjunctivitis and other symptoms. some pigs have encephalitis symptoms.
2.2.6 porcine toxoplasmosis. sows of toxoplasma infection showed fever, anorexia, cachexia. the symptoms can be followed by stillbirth and miscarriage for several days, even if the live infant is also acutely dead or not fully developed and will not suck or malformation. sows often heal spontaneously after childbirth.
2.3 poisoning
pigs feed on mouldy feed, toxic feed, poisonous plants or poisonous drugs, and sows suffer miscarriage, stillbirth, and low birth weight. the whole group of pigs caused breathing and magic
